Darren Cook brings nearly three decades of legal expertise and executive leadership to his roles as City Manager and City Attorney for Grove, Oklahoma. A dedicated public servant, Mr. Cook balances his municipal responsibilities with a distinguished legal career and a deep commitment to local governance and community mentorship.​​

Legal Advocacy & Record of Success

Mr. Cook is a seasoned litigator with a proven track record in complex and high-profile cases. His notable legal achievements include:

• Class Action Litigation: Helped secure a landmark $37 million judgment in Fankhouser v. XTO Energy, Inc. (W.D. Okla.).

• Appellate Success: Successfully defended a Pennsylvania chemical supplier in Swift v. Service Chemical, Inc., resulting in a published opinion from the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.

• Child Advocacy: Successfully represented nine abused children in a high-stakes lawsuit against the State of Oklahoma and the Department of Human Services, a case featured in the Tulsa World.​​

 

Professional Credentials & Admissions

A 1996 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Mr. Cook is a 2018 graduate of the prestigious Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. He is admitted to practice across a broad range of jurisdictions, including:

• State Courts: All Oklahoma and Texas State Courts.

• Federal District Courts: Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma; Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas; and the District of Colorado.

• Appellate Courts: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

 

Public Service & Community Leadership

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Cook is a vital contributor to Oklahoma’s regional infrastructure and community development. He currently represents regional interests as a member of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and serves on several local boards.

Mr. Cook also serves in a leadership capacity for Boy Scout Troop #1005, where he helps guide and mentor local youth.
